Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

This was our last dinner party, which turned out to be a corker, as our guests might have said. Very neighborhood-centric, which is always nice.

Differences to the above shortlist: I didn’t do the stuffed dates and served some nice cheese instead. Also, I didn’t use mozzarella for the salad, substituting it with the last bits of buffalo ricotta I had left in the fridge whipped with heavy cream and herbs. Yum.

The highlight? Either the pasta al forno, which you’ve heard about, or the heavenly, majestic dessert, which you will be hearing about.

In the meantime, though, as we have another dinner party tonight, I’m off to make my first torta di grano saraceno, one of my favorite (one of the only decent?) Italian cakes.

Since the focus tonight is on Kobe steak (again), Francesco has requested that there be no side dishes and no first course. In other words, no distractions. He’s not going to get his way, of course (what kind of a dinner party thrower do you think I am?!), but his less is more ethic is refreshing sometimes. Especially when that means more mashed potatoes for me.
